Bylaws task force seeks member input
6/12/2008

The PRSA Bylaws Task Force is exploring alternative approaches to PRSA governance issues as it pursues a Delegate Assembly mandate to study and propose revisions to Society bylaws. The Bylaws Task Force identified a number of critical governance provisions on which it will proactively seek PRSA leader and member input.

“We have reached an exciting moment in our work to develop a bylaws document that enables a modern, flexible and efficient system of governance for PRSA,” said David Rickey, APR, Bylaws Task Force Chair.

The task force framed alternatives for future action around three broad categories: membership, leadership and governance. Among next steps are initiatives to reach out to PRSA members to engage their knowledge, experience and judgment on key provisions to deliver added value to the organization and the public relations profession.

The group will engage an expert in association governance to conduct focus groups during PRSA's annual Leadership Rally in June. Other measures include an electronic member survey, interactive e-Groups and leadership teleconferences.
