Want to take your career to the next level?
Administered by PRSA, The Universal Accreditation Program was formed January 1, 1998 to provide public relations professionals with a certification program capable of providing distinction and professional advancement.
Requirements for obtaining accreditation in public relations (APR):
- Must be an active PRSA member, in good standing.
- Have at least five years of full-time, paid professional public relations experience (recommended, not mandatory)
- Participation in a Readiness Review panel presentation where a committee reviews your work and your experience
- If advanced by the committee, passage of a computerized examination at a local testing site
To be considered, please check the national PRSA Accreditation website for an application. On this site, you’ll also find helpful information about the process, a study guide and recommended books to prepare for the exam. Once your application is accepted, PRSA national will contact the Greater Cleveland chapter APR Chair to arrange a Readiness Review. For more information, check out praccreditation.org.
